I’m still holding fast to the time I got to spend with my sweet friend, Karel at Deeper Still in June. She is one of those friends that knows the very core of who you are and loves you loyally and unconditionally. I love her to pieces. We’d plan to meet in Lexington, KY (her home town) and spend the weekend together. She lives in St. Louis having moved away from AL about seven years ago and we don’t get the opportunity to have girl time (unless she surprises me with a trip to HSV – thanks girl) a whole lot. So.. the very last Deeper Still was the perfect choice for a sweet and wonderful time!
To say we were open and ready to soak it in is an understatement. I won’t bore you with the many life season changes just yet, but trust me.. we were ready for a WORD! BOY.. did we get it and so much more!
Ms. Kay threw it down… right from the beginning. Doesn’t surprise you does it? Here’s a recap:
Why have you come? For the knowledge of God? We need to be free from the shackles of the ignorance of the Word of God. We need to be free from the distortion of the ignorance of the Word of God. She encouraged us to become unshackled and to really know the Truth, believe and live accordingly to experience freedom and power without a shadow of a doubt. We are LOVED by God.
Have you been doubting the love of God?
Ms. Kay talked about a poll that Precepts took of 400+ women asking them that same question. 3/4 of them said yes, we doubt God’s love. Many said I talk but I don’t hear a thing from God – they feel unworthy, not good enough, their past is still sinful.
Are we performing according to what we expect? Where are you today sweet one? How confident are you in the LOVE of God? She took us to 1 John 3 :
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.” (1 John 3:1-3 ESV)
I loved the reminder from her of Ephesians 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,” (Ephesians 1:3 ESV) and the gentle reminder that when I come to the Word of God, I don’t know it all. (That’s for sure!)
How are you living? Are you sold out and living with a passion for Him? Is there sin in your life that is making you doubt His love for you? Are you doubting God’s love because you are habitually practicing sin?
Ms. Kay encouraged us passionately to confess everything to Him and to deal with any habitual sin that was getting in the way of a surrendered and intimate walk with God. She also reminded us that in order to know the Word of God, we must study the Word of God.
So sweet friends, as the summer days now have August in the front of them and there is a mad dash rush to get the back to school chores completed or your season of life is changing, what are we studying? His Words are life to my very being every moment, I pray that they are life to you.
